3 Days in Costa Rica
Costa Rica is a beautiful Central American country that is known for its beautiful beaches, volcanoes, and rainforests. Even though three days in Costa Rica is not nearly enough time to really enjoy this beautiful country, my friends and I still had such an amazing experience!
After flying into Juan Santamaria International Airport we rented a car and drove 4 hours to Secrets Papagayo Resort and Spa. Although I was a little nervous to drive, it ended up being one of my favorite things about the trip. It was a beautiful drive and pretty much a straight shot all the way to our hotel.
Upon our arrival we were handed champagne, warm hand towels that smelled of mint, and greetings from a bunch of smiling faces. The concierge Freddy gave us all the information needed for our stay, and gave us some recommendations for things to do around the area.
After being shuttled to our room and unpacking we walked down to the pool and private black sand beach. The hotel was beautiful and all the food was phenomenal. Also A shout out to Jose Angel who surprised us with multiple delicious drinks. That evening Freddy ordered us a taxi to take us to Coco Beach where there are tons of shops, bars, restaurants. We got there a little to late so we weren’t able to enjoy the beach and shops, but we got to stop at Coconutz Sports Bar and Ziplounge where we met some fun locals.
The next day we hung out at the beach and pool at the hotel. We did some paddle boarding and just relaxed and enjoyed the day. Later on that night we ate dinner and did some salsa dancing, and watched a fire show.
Our last day is where the real adventure began. After checking out of the hotel, we hopped in a tour van set up by Alex on the Beach and Amazing Tours. The tour took us to see the Llanos de Cortez waterfall, horse rides to hike the hanging bridges. Then to Las Hornillas where we walked inside an active crater found in the foothill of Miravalles Volcano, took mud baths, and relaxed in natural hot springs. Then to top is off we got to go down a crazy water slide that had the most amazing view for a split second while trying to hang on!
After our day long adventure we drove back to San Jose, dropped the car off, and took an Uber to El Rodeo Estancia Boutique Hotel & Steakhouse. I lost my wallet somewhere between the Uber ride and the restaurant. The receptionist at our hotel helped me get a hold of our Driver who thankfully brought it back to me. After all the excitement, we went and ate some amazing fillet at the steakhouse. The workers catered to us even though it was only 15 minutes until they were supposed to close. They made sure our meal was perfect. The service really went above and beyond
The people in Costa Rica were so nice and helpful. Although we had a few unexpected hiccups, overall the trip was really great. Not only did we meet some incredible new people, it also brought me and my friends closer together. Now we are looking forward to planning our next trip together!
Until next time Costa Rica
